About the Clean Energy Option

Signing up for the Connecticut Clean Energy Option (CTCleanEnergyOptions^SM) will offset your kilowatt-hour usage with wind and landfill gas renewable energy credits -- displacing energy from suppliers using coal, oil, and gas generation, which create carbon emissions that exacerbate global warming. The clean energy that is being generated is being delivered to the general electric grid and displaces an equal amount of electricity that would have been generated from traditional sources, such as coal, oil and natural gas-fired generating plants.

The only cost to you is a small monthly ($3-$6/mo for 700 kwh usage) clean energy surcharge, included in your regular bill. For the cost of as little as a cup of coffee, you can “neutralize” the environmental impact of your electric bill!
